Eriq La Salle is an Actor, Director, Producer, and Award-Winning Author best known to worldwide television audiences for his portrayal of the commanding Dr. Peter Benton in the award-winning, critically acclaimed medical drama, 'ER'. After nine years the show has returned to a world-wide television and streaming audience in syndication, to the delight of old and new fans, and became the #1 show on Hulu and Pop-TV upon its release.

Raised in Hartford, Connecticut and educated at Julliard and NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, La Salle’s credits range from Broadway to iconic film roles opposite Eddie Murphy in ‘Coming to America’ and Robin Williams in ‘One Hour Photo’.  La Salle has maintained a prolific acting career while at the same time working steadily as a director on top-rated NBC, Fox, and CBS television network shows. He is currently Executive Producer of NBC’s ‘Chicago P.D.’ and directs many of the season’s episodes. He made his directorial debut with HBO’s ‘Rebound’ followed by the pilot for Showtime’s ‘Soul Food’.  Additional directorial credits include hit shows: ‘Lucifer’, ‘CSI: Cyber’, ‘Rosewood’, ‘Once Upon a Time’, and ‘Chicago Med’.

Returning to the big screen in 2017, La Salle appeared opposite Hugh Jackman in Fox's highest grossing 2017 title ‘Logan’ ($226.2m). In between producing, directing, and writing La Salle spends his time teaching acting students and, visiting corporations and colleges to speak about his wide-ranging career as an actor, director, filmmaker, and author.

La Salle's Martyr Maker thriller series: Laws of Depravity, Laws of Innocence, Laws of Wrath, and Laws of Annihilation will be published in 2022 and 2023 by Ebony Magazine Publishing, an Imprint of Sourcebooks.
